Without further ado, let’s dive deep into this tasty game.

Recent Form

Both team are on fire coming into this clash. PSG have only lost once in their last nine games. They got to this stage after completely annihilating Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate, and then beating Liverpool 4-0 over two legs.

In those nine games, they have scored a whopping 26 goals and conceded just five. Luis Enrique is building a monstrous team over in Paris.

If you look at their domestic form, they are on their way to win another league title. With four more games to go, they are six points above Lens on the table. Unless a disaster happens, which it most likely won’t, PSG are going to win their fifth Ligue 1 title in a row.

However, Bayern would say anything you can do, they can do better.

The Germans haven’t lost a game since January. That’s right, they are undefeated in their last 19 games.

If you look back at their last nine games, they’ve scored 32 goals, which is just outrageous. But they did concede 12 goals in that span so that could be their weakness, especially coming up against a side with the quality of PSG.

After all, Bayern looked like they were in serious danger of being eliminated at home by Real Madrid, until Eduardo Camavinga got sent off for a very silly reason.

Nonetheless, Bayern have showed that even if they do concede, they will just outscore teams, and they’ve already wrapped up the Bundesliga title in style.

Star Players – PSG

Both teams are full of young exciting talents, as well as some veteran leaders who have won everything in soccer. PSG have four forwards that can cause damage to not just Bayern’s defense, but any defense in the world.

Ousmane Dembélé is the current Ballon d’Or winner with 18 goals and 10 assists this season. Then you have Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with 17 goals and 11 assists. Of course, you then have young French duo of Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué– who have a combined stat of 25 goals and 12 assists.

The Portuguese duo of Vitinha and João Neves are monsters at running the midfield. In the back, Marquinhos is still captaining the team and the Ecuadorian giant Willian Pacho is like a rock you can’t get past.

Of course, Gianluigi Donnarumma is no longer between the sticks but the Russian keeper Matvey Safonov is really impressing there, perhaps even surprising Luis Enrique who thought Lucas Chevalier would be the answer early in the season.

Star Players – Bayern Munich

On the other hand, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany also has some of the world’s best players at his disposal.

Harry Kane is in his prime right now. He is really loving his time in Germany and in 50 games so far this season, he has 56 goals. That’s simply an insane stat, and he is hungry to add more goals to his tally.

Luis Díaz is thriving under Kompany as well, with 25 goals and 17 assists this season. And who can forget Michael Olise, a player that’s now getting so much attention from media and fans given that he’s contributed with 22 goals and 27 assists this season.

Bayern have a very deep squad where if someone is injured or suspended, someone off the bench can come in and make a solid contribution. And of course, a talent like Jamal Musiala finally being healthy enough to play minutes is a huge plus.

As mentioned above, the only thing they have to worry about is their defense, with both Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah looking a bit shaky at times. Manuel Neuer is still a world class keeper but at 40, he may make a mistake here and there.

Prediction

This game feels so evenly matched it will be hard to predict which team will end up punching a ticket to the final.

The first leg will be in Paris, and it’s a good chance for PSG to take advantage of the home field and get a win, so they can put the pressure on Bayern for the second leg.

Expect a lot of goals, expect a lot of chaos. But at home, PSG would probably make Bayern pay for their leaky backline and get the win.

1st Leg Score: PSG 4-2 Bayern
