Champions League semi-finalists ‘to hold’ talks on Gomes as West Brom ‘monitor’ keeper, Villa stance on Douglas Luiz | OneFootball

Transfer talk is accelerating around the Midlands, with meetings planned over Wolves midfielder Gomes, West Brom monitoring a goalkeeper, and Aston Villa unlikely to pursue a permanent return for Douglas Luiz.

Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson moved to Millwall after falling out of favour, but his future remains unclear, according to the Sunderland Echo. The report adds Albion are among several clubs monitoring him as they await their retained list.

Gomes is expected to be among several Wolves exits, amid links to Napoli and Atletico Madrid. Spain is viewed as likeliest, with the Champions League semi-finalists set to hold new meetings in the coming weeks to try to close a deal. They saw Conor Gallagher leave for Tottenham in January and view Gomes as a direct replacement.

Beskitas signed Wolves defender Emmanual Agbadou in January, a year after he arrived at Molineux. They are now reported in Türkiye to be targeting another centre back, with Yerson Mosquera of interest after relegation was confirmed.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Swedish midfielder Svante Ingelsson has caught the eye despite a torrid season that featured administration and relegation. He is expected to leave Hillsborough, with Championship suitors including Albion linked.

Villa are thought unlikely to make Luiz’s stay permanent. He left for Juventus in 2024, returned in January and has played 17 times, but there is no obligation to buy and Juventus want about £23m. Villa also track out-of-contract Rangers midfielder Bailey Rice, with Crystal Palace interested.
