On the eve of the final league-phase fixtures, PSG have their fate in their own hands to secure a top-eight finish and direct passage to the last 16, while Marseille and Monaco currently occupy play-off places.
L'Équipe notes that PSG, third before matchday seven, dropped three places after losing to Sporting Portugal on Tuesday. With one game to play they sit sixth, still in the automatic last‑16 bracket. The top two are out of reach, but a podium finish remains possible.
Marseille were beaten by Liverpool at the Vélodrome on Wednesday, and Monaco were routed by Real Madrid on Tuesday. In 19th and 21st respectively, both are in play-off spots and would be away from home. They still need to win on the final day to avoid falling out of the top 24 and exiting at the league phase.
After seven rounds, Arsenal lead on 21 points with a +18 goal difference, ahead of Bayern Munich on 18 and +13. Real Madrid and Liverpool follow on 15, Tottenham are fifth on 14, with PSG sixth on 13 and +10, Newcastle seventh also on 13 and +10, and Chelsea eighth on 13 and +6.
Barcelona and Sporting Portugal are next on 13, with Manchester City 11th and Atlético de Madrid 12th. The current cut-off for the play-offs is Olympiakos in 24th on 8 points.
