Charlton Athletic sign Australian international midfielder Davidson | OneFootball

Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Australian international midfielder Leah Davidson on a two-year deal.

The Addicks announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 25-year-old moves to The Valley after spending six years in the Ninja A-League with Melbourne City. She has won three consecutive Ninja A-League titles while she was also a championship winner last season.

Davidson has also turned out for Brisbane Roar and APIA Leichhardt in her career to date.

On the international stage, Davidson has been capped by Australia on four occasions in which she has scored one goal.

After joining Charlton Athletic, Davidson said “I spent six years at Melbourne City, and honestly can’t say a bad word about the club. Loved it, grew as a player and a person, but I thought I can’t say no to this opportunity, and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’d probably say [I’m most looking forward to playing] the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City,  all of them big clubs. I know it’ll be challenging, but I’m so excited for them.”

Davidson is Charlton Athletic’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. Further additions are expected at The Valley in the coming weeks.
