The 8th round of the Brasileirão Betano kicks off this coming Saturday (21st) with three matches and wraps up on Sunday with seven games, the last of which is the regional classic Corinthians vs Flamengo, the most recent champions of the Copa do Brasil and the Brasileirão in 2025.

On Saturday, Red Bull Bragantino and Botafogo will face off in Bragança Paulista. The team from Rio, featuring midfielder Danilo—one of the top scorers in the Brasileirão with 5 goals and recently called up to the Brazilian National Team—is seeking its first away win. Then, at 6:30 pm, Fluminense hosts Atlético-MG at Maracanã, where they defend a 20-game unbeaten streak—they haven’t lost since September 13th across all competitions.

At night, the São Paulo vs Palmeiras classic will pit the current top two teams against each other. The Verdão, who have won the last five encounters, haven’t lost to their rivals since 2023, tallying 7 wins and 4 draws.

On Sunday, the round continues at 4 pm with Remo vs Bahia, the only unbeaten team in the 2026 Brasileirão, and Cruzeiro vs Santos at Mineirão, which will see the debuts of coaches Arthur Jorge for Raposa (2024 Brazilian champion with Botafogo) and Cuca for Peixe (Brazilian champion in 2016 with Palmeiras and in 2021 with Atlético-MG); plus the Atletiba classic between Athletico-PR and Coritiba.

Shortly after, Internacional hosts Chapecoense at Beira-Rio, and Vitória will take on Mirassol in Salvador. Wrapping up the round, Corinthians face Flamengo at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, repeating the 2026 Supercopa Rei final, which ended with a 2-0 victory for Corinthians.
