In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Chelsea are keeping a keen eye on Barcelona playmaker Dani Olmo. It has been mentioned that the Blues are eyeing a €70m move to sign the Spain international this off-season.

Olmo’s Impressive Numbers In La Liga

The 28-year-old had a great campaign at the Catalan club after he put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. Olmo registered eight goals and secured ten assists in 49 matches for Barcelona last season across all competitions.

The Spanish talent is currently among the best playmakers in La Liga. Therefore, it is no surprise that Chelsea are showing interest in recruiting him later this year.

His current deal at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Blues to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Will Olmo Be A Good Choice For Chelsea Boss Xabi Alonso?

Olmo is a technically gifted footballer who can shoot the ball with power from long range. He has also got the vision to engineer some promising chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Spanish sensation can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. Olmo is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a left-winger or play as a striker down the middle if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Blues manage to bring him on board in this summer transfer window.

Olmo would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso’s attack. He is more than capable of challenging for a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge in the coming seasons.

At 28, Olmo is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent choice for the West London giants to consider in this summer transfer window. The Spaniard could help the Blues compete for some major trophies in the future. However, Alonso has to give him some time to adjust to life in the Premier League before he can get the best out of the Spain international.
