In a recent report, Bild stated that Chelsea are set to rival Manchester United for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha. It has been mentioned that the Blues would have to pay a fee in the region of €70m to bring him to Stamford Bridge this off-season.
Nmecha has caught the eye at times with his performances at the heart of Dortmund’s midfield this season. The German talent has participated in 35 matches for his current employers in this campaign so far, finding the back of the net on five occasions and earning three assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is currently among the best central midfielders in the Bundesliga. Thus, it makes sense for the Blues to move in for him next summer.
His current contract at Signal Iduna Park will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Chelsea to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Nmecha loves a tackle and can make some important interceptions for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.
The German sensation can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. Nmecha is a good dribbler with the ball as well. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to sign him later this year.
We can expect Nmecha to inject more quality and depth into Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior’s midfield. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team place at the West London club in the coming years.
At 25, Nmecha has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for Chelsea’s needs this summer. He might even help the Blues compete for some major trophies in the future. Hence, Rosenior should focus on going all out to lure him to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer period.
