Chelsea will not entertain loan offers for Renato Veiga with the club only considering permanent proposals.
Veiga has returned to Chelsea after spending the second half of last season on loan at Juventus. The Portugal international joined Juventus after struggling to break into Enzo Maresca’s plans last season and made 15 appearances for the Italian side.
Both Chelsea and Veiga are keen to find a solution to his future this summer, with each party open to a permanent exit.
Interest from Atletico Madrid failed to materialise in a transfer earlier in the window, and the Spanish side instead turned to Feyenoord defender David Hancko.
Borussia Dortmund remain interested in signing Veiga, but are unwilling to meet the current asking price of around £35m.
However, the German side will not be able to sign Veiga on loan with Fabrizio Romano reporting that only permanent proposals are being considered.
Chelsea signed the 22-year-old from Basel for a fee of around £12m last summer. The Blues remain open to offloading the versatile defender despite Levi Colwill’s long-term injury and Maresca’s desire to sign an additional centre-back.
