It’s a chaotic time at Chelsea, and someone who is only just getting used to that is Mamadou Sarr.

He arrived as the only first team addition in January, and has just now spoken to the club’s official website in an interview about how he’s getting on after a crazy few months for him.

Sarr on the whirlwind winter which has taken him to the top

“Two months ago I was in Strasbourg, in the French league, and now I’m in the Premier League. It’s a dream come true. I won the Club World Cup with Chelsea [in the summer] and went back to Strasbourg to learn more and to play games,” the defender explained.

It wasn’t just an unexpected midseason return to Chelsea which came around in January – he also ended up starting in the AFCON final and winning the thing.

“Then I got my first cap in the national team which made me and my family very happy. Then to win the AFCON was a crazy thing. And then I went back to Chelsea! So it’s going crazy fast, but I am enjoying it.”
