Chelsea are showing interest in Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho, Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Gittens and Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel, according to reports.
20-year-old Garnacho's future at Old Trafford has become increasingly uncertain after it was revealed that no player at United was deemed untouchable ahead of a squad rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
Napoli have shown the strongest interest in Garnacho, looking to the Argentine to replace the departed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but saw an initial approach rejected by United. The Red Devils are not actively looking to sell Garnacho and certainly not for the £40m figure that was suggested.
The Telegraph report that United are willing to stand their ground in negotiations for Garnacho, who played the full 90 minutes of Thursday's 3-1 comeback win over Southampton, and will not agree to a cut-price deal with any interested party, nor will they consider deals that involve trading players they don't really want.
Chelsea are understood to be not only be tracking Garnacho, but also Borussia Dortmund winger Gittens, who is enjoying a fine individual season despite the Bundesliga giants' struggles, and talented Bayern Munich forward Tel, who faces stiff competition for a starting role in Bavaria.
20-year-old Gittens has netted 11 goals in all competitions for Dortmund, including seven in the Bundesliga, and is another player who left Manchester City's academy as a 15-year-old in order to continue his footballing education in Germany. Tel is yet to score for Bayern this season but did score 10 goals in the 2023/24 campaign.
Gittens' Dortmund teammate, Karim Adeyemi, is another player of interest to Chelsea, though he's regarded as a late-window loan option if other moves fail to come to fruition.
Concerns over Garnacho's temperament may dissaude Chelsea and Napoli from committing to a high-value transfer - the tricky inside forward was previously dropped from United's squad for the Manchester derby amid concerns over his performances in training - and it's not yet known how he'd feel about an Old Trafford exit.
Garnacho has been accused on social media of leaking United's teamsheet prior to matches, seemingly affecting his relationship with the club's supporters. Despite those off-field issues, he continues to be a key figure in United's team and his absence for the visit to Manchester City remains the only Premier League game he has missed this season.
