Chelsea’s plans to sell Axel Disasi have been hurt by West Ham’s relegation, but there is still plenty of interest in the defender.

Chelsea missing out on European football means they will have to sell a lot more players than they were planning to – but some sales have long been expected.

Axel Disasi has been in the out tray for more than two years, but only a loan to West Ham in January was secured this time around. Their relegation means he won’t be joining them full time, but his impressive performances for the Hammers should mean plenty of other interest.

Journalist Santi Aouna today writes that “clubs have already made enquiries” about the centre back.

We would imagine any mid-table team in the Premier League looking for a new defenders will be interested, and Chelsea should be able to get a pretty chunky fee for the Frenchman, who has shown himself to be a capable box-defender.

There is likely to be interest from abroad too, although it will be harder to get a suitable fee.

In other news…

It won’t be all sales though – Chelsea will also be buying players, and a list of potential additions has been put up already.

All these players coming in, plus a lack of European games next season, means a “mass exodus” of Chelsea players next season. Nobody will object to that.
