Chelsea FC are closely monitoring Rennes centre-back Jérémy Jacquet (20), according to a report from Le Parisien. The 20-year-old France U21 international is being touted as one of the next gems in his position, and several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, have noticed his development at Rennes.

The outlet understands that Chelsea FC are one of them, and they have taken formal steps to closely watch Jacquet through scouts. Rennes are reportedly aware of the Blues’ interest in their academy graduate.

Clubs interested in Jacquet would be keen to submit bids during the winter transfer window, considering Jacquet’s worth is expected to rise in the coming months. But Rennes are expected to stand firm and retain their prized assets in their push for European football this season. And whilst the France youth international’s contract with the Breton club runs until the summer of 2028, a departure next summer could certainly be on the cards.
