Chelsea are reportedly open to selling one of their midfielders who has scored 7 goals in 19 games so far this season.

The January window is usually a much quieter window for all clubs due to the fact it is the middle of the season and clubs do not want to disrupt things.

But there is one situation brewing at Chelsea that is perhaps not such a mainstream story, but one that could develop going into the new year when the winter window opens up.

Chelsea have a very talented youngster from the academy who is currently out on loan developing and earning his trade. And he is doing very well too.

Midfielder Leo Castledine came through the Chelsea academy and he has been out playing senior football for Huddersfield Town this season.

The Daily Mirror report Castledine has lit up the third-tier with seven goals in 19 games – making him Huddersfield’s top scorer – and has caught the eye with some stunning strikes.

His form has apparently caught the eye of several clubs in higher leagues, especially the Championship, and a permanent move in January could happen.

Castledine’s contract at Stamford Bridge still has around 18 months left to run. However, it’s understood Chelsea are open to facilitating a generous deal in January on the basis that they would stand to profit from any future move the talented youngster may go on to make.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 20-year-old.
