One Chelsea player has made an admission that will spark some concern for next season with claims that four players are competing for one position.

On the pitch, The Blues have been struggling with poor form apart from their last game when they thrashed Southampton.

The Blues won the game 4-0 in what was a much needed convincing performance, with goals coming from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella.

EXCLUSIVE! The Goalkeeper Chelsea were very close to signing over Robert Sanchez – fans would have much preferred this!

The Saints were a very poor opposition of course, but Chelsea really needed a big win and a big performance, and that is exactly what they did last night right in the nick of time as they look to keep challenging for that all important Champions League spot.

Neto was superb playing as the number 9 and as well as getting his goal, he has explained why he loves playing as a striker with a hilarious answer!

But with four goalkeepers set to compete for the number one spot at Stamford Bridge next season, problems will occur.

Mike Penders signs for Chelsea.

One of those goalkeepers, Mike Penders, who is currently out on loan with Genk, has admitted he just wants to play regularly next season. So if he is competing with Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, AND Djordje Petrovic for the number one shirt, that will not be a guarantee.

Penders has to return to Chelsea in the summer and isn’t aware where he will play next season. The stopper revealed this when TVL Sportcafé asked about his future beyond this season and Voetbal Nieuws relay his comments.

“I’m not thinking about it too much yet. I’m giving everything for Genk this season,” he said.

“Whether it’s another year in Genk, elsewhere or already at Chelsea, we’ll see. I obviously want to play next season, that’s the most important thing for me.”
