Chelsea have reportedly just been handed a big boost in their pursuit of their ‘top’ transfer target this January window as times ticks on.
We are entering the final 8 days of the transfer window now, and it has been VERY quiet for Chelsea in terms of deals being done at least.
We have seen plenty of rumours flying around through, and tons of names linked with The Blues. And last night, we did actually see the first ‘here we go’ done deal announced by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. So maybe things will finally start moving now?
As well as this, we heard Romano recently name Chelsea’s ‘top’ target for the rest of this window, and it was a very surprise name, and a very surprise position.
Despite Chelsea needing to address the spine of the team in the shape mainly of a new striker, as well as a goalkeeper, top centre back, and maybe even a midfielder, their top target is a winger.
You would have seen all of the latest news on Chelsea’s interest in Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United. There’s been some updates on that one this week.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho as Napoli appear to be turning their attention to other targets.
Napoli are looking to sign a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this month after he was sold to Paris Saint-Germain for around £60million, but it seems as though United’s £70m asking price for Garnacho has proved a sticking point.
According to reports, Napoli have made contact with Borussia Dortmund over a deal for Karim Adeyemi.
This will then apparently give Chelsea a ‘free run’ at Garnacho now this month.
