Chelsea set to ‘open discussions’ with Bayern to sign £56m star | OneFootball

Chelsea are reportedly showing keen interest in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic in the summer window. 

Premier League rivals Manchester City are also believed to be monitoring the 21-year-old midfielder, who has impressed under Vincent Kompany this season.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Pavlovic, but Bayern are highly unlikely to sell him at this point.

Chelsea eye move for Aleksandar Pavlovic?

According to a report from Caughtoffside, Manchester City have already held informal talks with people close to the player. Despite the interest, Pavlovic is reportedly satisfied with his development at Bayern.

The midfielder recently stated that he dreams of playing for Bayern until the end of his career, suggesting that a move away from the club is not currently on his mind.

Chelsea already have several midfield options, including Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo, Andrey Santos and Enzo Fernandez in their ranks. However, the Blues are reportedly still looking to strengthen their midfield by adding another holding midfielder.

The report claims that Chelsea are expected to “open discussions” with Bayern in the coming weeks, although any negotiations are unlikely to lead to a breakthrough.

Bayern Munich stance on Aleksandar Pavlovic

Pavlovic has progressed through Bayern’s youth academy and is now living his dream by playing regularly under Kompany.

Christian Falk has told CFBayern that Bayern have no intention of selling Pavlovic under any circumstances, making a potential move to the Premier League next summer highly unlikely.

The Bavarian giants view the technically gifted midfielder as a key part of their long-term plans. Pavlovic is under contract with Bayern until 2029, placing the club in a strong position in any potential negotiations.

The 21-year-old is currently valued at around £56m (€65m), although Bayern reportedly see him as an invaluable asset. Pavlovic has already made eight starts in the Champions League, underlining his growing importance to the team.

With Leon Goretzka set to leave Bayern at the end of the season, Pavlovic could soon become a mainstay in midfield alongside Joshua Kimmich.
