Chelsea completed an incredible comeback against Man City in the Women's Champions League quarter-final, defeating them 3-0 (3-2 on aggregate) at Stamford Bridge.
Scorers: Baltimore 14', Björn 38', Ramírez 42'
The Blues dominated the game from the opening minute, and had five shots inside the opening 10 minutes. However, none threatened Khiara Keating, as City survived an early onslaught.
Or so they thought, as Sandy Baltimore opened the scoring for WSL champions and league leaders shortly after. Lucy Bronze cut through midfield before seeing her curved shot hitting the post. The defender, though, was on hand to smash the ball in the far corner, giving Keating no chance.
City weathered the storm for the next 20 or so minutes, but Chelsea turned the tie on its head with two goals in four minutes just before the break.
Nathalie Björn levelled the tie with a powerful header from Baltimore's whipped corner, with the visitors failing to deal with the corner or the centre-back.
City needed to get to half-time but couldn't as Chelsea made it three and took the lead for the first time over the two legs. Lauren James was the provider, running down the right and supplying a cutback for Mayra Ramírez to scuff a finish in past Keating and a defender.
City stemmed the flow in the second half, but rarely looked like drawing back level in the tie at any point.
The closest they came was through Vivianne Miedema, whose low shot from outside the box went just wide of Hannah Hampton's post.
Erin Cuthbert almost put the seal on a famous night for Sonia Bompastor and her side late on, but her curled effort hit off the crossbar.
It mattered little as the Blues held on to progress to a third consecutive semi-final with defending champions Barcelona, and kept alive their hopes of an unprecedented quadruple.
