Liam Rosenior is being heavily linked with the vacant role at Chelsea. The Englishman could make the move to RC Strasbourg Alsace’s “big brother” in order to replace the departed Enzo Maresca. A shortlist of replacements is currently being drawn up, according to a report from L’Équipe.
There are several names in contention, including Calum McFarlane, the Chelsea U21 manager, who is set to lead the Blues against Manchester City on 4th January. A former pillar of the BlueCo project, Eric Ramsay, could also be in contention. Currently the manager of Minnesota FC, he has been offered to the Ligue 1 club, L’Équipe understands.
Brian Barry-Murphy, currently at Cardiff City, has been a target in the past and he once again features on Strasbourg’s shortlist. Bodo/Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen is another option touted, whilst there is also the possibility of promoting Filipe Coelho, Rosenior’s assistant. All of course depends on Rosenior’s future amid the Chelsea links.
