Leeds and Chelsea have a historic rivalry, and while it’s been in the background of late, it could be getting back to its best.
Our first league meeting against them earlier this season was very significant for both clubs. Coming into that game, Chelsea were in great form and the home side looked set for relegation. But their 3-1 win over us at the start of December sparked a major improvement in their form; while setting us into a negative spiral which ended with the departure of Enzo Maresca a month later.

Pedro Neto scores for Chelsea from close range.
We have since swung back in the right direction under Liam Rosenior, while Leeds keep up their relegation battling form. Their coach Daniel Farke spoke a little about the game in his preview presser today:
“They’ve had really good results under Liam,” Farke said.
“We are respectful. They are a very promising group of players. But we are aware we have the tools to bring our strength. We don’t fear anyone.”
After their 3-1 win, the Leeds social media accounts poked fun at us by posting a picture of Pedro Neto (who scored our goal in the game) doing his “fingers in ears” celebration. We’re sure the Chelsea accounts have something in mind for revenge if we win tomorrow.
Chelsea have a real gem on their hands in the form of Josh Acheampong. We want to see him used more, and so far Liam Rosenior has been reluctant to deploy him. But the manager spoke about Josh in his presser today.
There were also updates on Andrey Santos and Romeo Lavia, who are both in training at the moment. One sounds like he’ll be back tomorrow, the other still has some way to go.
