Chelsea will keep the market “open” for Nicolas Jackson in the Premier League according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Jackson has seen speculation about his future increase following the arrival of both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer.

The 24-year-old now has genuine competition for his place for the first time in his Chelsea career, and it remains to be seen how he will respond.

Chelsea to keep Premier League market “open” for Jackson

Jackson is currently preparing for Sunday’s Club World Cup final against Paris Saint Germain, but he’s not had the best tournament.

The Senegal international is yet to score, and was sent off against Flamengo in the group stage, with it unlikely he’ll start the final.

Jackson reportedly has interest from AC Milan as well as Premier League clubs, although Chelsea’s asking price is thought to be too expensive for Italian clubs.

The Blues are believed to want around £50m for Jackson, and Romano has provided an update on Chelsea and the Senegalese.

“When Chelsea asked for Ekitike, the price was €100m,” he said on his YouTube channel.

“Chelsea position is if you ask for these figures for these strikers, we’ll ask the same for ours.

“Chelsea will keep the market open for Jackson in the Premier League.”

Will another forward arrive at Stamford Bridge?

Following the departure of Noni Madueke, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will look to bring another attacker in this summer.

Chelsea have already made three attacking signings, and were linked with Mohammed Kudus, although he’s now joined Tottenham.

Links to Hugo Ekitike appear to have gone quiet, whilst there’s also interest in Lyon winger Malick Fofana, and it will be interesting to see what Chelsea decide to do.

If Jackson were to leave then it’s almost certain the Blues will have to go into the market for another striker, but whilst he’s still at the club Chelsea face a big decision.
