One former chief scout has declared that he believes Chelsea will be all over a deal to sign a Premier League goalkeeper for £30-40m.
A lot is being said and reported about Chelsea’s summer transfer plans now as we distance ourselves from a terrible January window.
The striker position is the one that is still being talked about the most, with Victor Osimhen’s name arising again.
Chelsea of course tried to sign Osimhen last summer but failed in the final days, and he then ended up going on loan to Turkey from Napoli for the season.
But at the end of this season, it is expected that the striker will be making his next permanent move, and Chelsea are still being linked with him.
However, Osimhen is not the only striker being mentioned alongside Chelsea, and many other clubs by the way. The main striker who keeps getting linked and just feels like it is destined to happen is Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Chelsea seem to be looking at him much closer than they are looking at any other striker right now, including Osimhen.

With uncertainty over Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, Chelsea are also being linked with new goalkeepers.
Chelsea are willing to match Liverpool’s demands over the signing of Caoimhin Kelleher as he has emerged as a top target ahead of the summer.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown.
“For that price, I’d be more surprised if they didn’t make a move,” he told Football Insider.
“I think he’s a good goalkeeper.
“He’ll be looking at the situation he’s in at Liverpool and his chances of becoming the number-one goalkeeper there, with the other options they’ve got.
“So if that pathway is blocked, I can see why he’d want to move.
“I can also see why Chelsea are interested in him.
“They want to sign a new goalkeeper to help strengthen defensively.
“If Kelleher is available for £30-40million, I think they’ll be all over that looking to get it done.
“Not only is he a good option now, as he proved, but I think he can get better too.”
