Chiellini confirms Juventus in no hurry to extend Yildiz’s contract | OneFootball

Juventus director Giorgio Chiellini insists ‘everyone’ wants to reach an agreement over Kenan Yildiz’s new contract, but negotiations will progress ‘calmly.’

Yildiz’s contract runs out in June 2029, but preliminary talks between the two parties have already begun, according to reports in Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport claimed last week that negotiations were on hold as the two parties could not entirely agree on the striker’s new salary and some bonuses.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring the situation at the Allianz Stadium, knowing that Yildiz has a long-term deal in Turin.

Chiellini spoke on Wednesday at the Social Football Summit (via Calciomercato.com), confirming that negotiations will progress “slowly and calmly” keeping in mind that “everyone wants to make it happen.”

Juventus have gone through several changes over the last few years. They’ve had three coaches in 2025 and hired Damien Comolli as their new General Manager last summer.

The Frenchman has now been appointed as the club’s CEO, while Chiellini has been serving as the Director of Football Strategy since last July.

Less than a month ago, Juventus sacked Igor Tudor and hired Luciano Spalletti.

“I’ve been part of shared decisions. I’m not the number one, but Comolli is someone who shares things; there’s a need for exchanging ideas to reach certain decisions,” said Chiellini.

“The coming months will be difficult, but also stimulating. After a golden decade, the last three years have been tougher than others, but there’s still a light. In my opinion, this club will manage to overcome all the changes. There’s a much brighter light than what we can see now. Of course, it’s more tiring, but I see at the end of this path, a train travelling far and bringing Juventus back to that normality of knowing how to win, accepting defeat and learning from challenges.”
