Guadalajara’s outstanding form in the Clausura 2026 has not gone unnoticed. As a result, Javier Aguirre selected seven Chivas players for the next Mexican National Team training camp, which includes a preparation match ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Gabriel Milito’s team has dominated Liga MX largely thanks to the excellent individual performances of several players, catching the attention of the national team coach. For the February call-up, Aguirre included Raúl Rangel, Diego Campillo, Richard Ledezma, Brian Gutiérrez, Roberto Alvarado, Efraín Álvarez, and Armando González. Just as in the January roster, El Rebaño Sagrado remains the backbone of the Mexican squad.
These seven Rojiblancos have been instrumental in Guadalajara’s perfect start to Clausura 2026, leading the overall standings, boasting the second-best offense in the league, and ranking among the strongest defenses of the semester.
As part of its preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the national team will face Iceland on February 25 at Estadio Corregidora in Querétaro. In that match, Javier Aguirre will continue evaluating his squad as he works toward defining the final roster for next summer’s World Cup—where we trust several Chivas players will be present.
