Cristian Chivu believes that Inter ‘dominated’ for the majority of their 4-3 loss against Juventus in the Derby d’Italia on Saturday evening, but grew frustrated during his post-match press conference when asked about the ‘trauma’ of the Champions League final: ‘Enough’.
Inter put in a spirited performance away against Juventus in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia, but went home empty-handed after a 91st-minute winner from Bianconeri teenager Vasilije Adzic.
Hakan Calhanoglu struck twice for the Nerazzurri to cancel out goals from Lloyd Kelly and Kenan Yildiz, Marcus Thuram then put Inter 3-2 up, before being levelled by his brother Khpehren for 3-3. Then came the injury-time winner from 19-year-old Adzic.

“The team dominated from the first minute. We came here to play and showed it, except in certain moments which we could have managed better,” Chivu said of Inter’s performance during his post-match press conference.
“We overturned it, but unfortunately there was a lack of concentration in our management. Bringing out a bit of pragmatism and solidity would have meant us going back to Milan happier than we are right now.”

Though he was pleased with what he saw from his players for the majority of the game against Juventus, Chivu grew frustrated during his post-match presser when asked if Inter are still struggling with the ‘trauma’ of their 5-0 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on May 31.
“Enough with the Champions League final, five months have passed,” Chivu frustratedly told reporters after full-time.
“When I was talking about ‘things from the past’, I didn’t mean the Champions League final. There are certain habits, and sometimes you have to understand that instead of doing things beautifully, you have to do them efficiently.
“(The players) are working hard, with commitment and sacrifice, they’re showing it to me every day in training. We can’t forget what we did here today. I’ve not seen Inter put in a performance like that here in 20 years. Unfortunately, we go home with nothing, but the desire was there.”
