Chivu reacts to Thuram brothers laughing during Juventus 4-3 Inter: ‘Stop making controversies’ | OneFootball

Christian Chivu has had his say on Marcus and Khephren Thuram laughing together during a VAR check towards the end of the Derby d’Italia between Juventus and Inter on Saturday evening, telling journalists and supporters to ‘stop making controversies’.

Juventus were the victors of a thrilling 4-3 win over Inter in the Derby d’Italia at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening.

Hakan Calhanoglu twice equalised for the Nerazzurri after first-half strikes from Lloyd Kelly and Kenan Yildiz. The Thuram brothers both scored headers back-to-back, before a 91st minute winner from 19-year-old Vasilije Adzic.

What Chivu said about Marcus and Khephren Thuram after Juventus 4-3 Inter

Some Inter supporters have been left frustrated, though, not only with the result, but by Marcus Thuram and his conversation with his brother Kephren during the VAR check for Adzic’s late winner. The Thurams appeared to be laughing with one another during the last few moments of the derby.

Chivu, speaking at his post-match press conference, had an opportunity to respond to questions about the Thuram brothers and their antics towards the end of the Derby d’Italia.

“I haven’t seen it, I don’t know, I don’t know the context. I don’t know if anything happened, but let’s stop making controversies, it’s not good for anyone,” Chivu told reporters after full-time.

“Let’s talk about what we did see. I’m interested in understanding the big moments from the game. In my opinion, the team’s attitude was right, we managed to put Juventus in trouble. There was dominance in the second half, but we didn’t know how to manage it.”
