Cristian Chivu may have guided Inter Milan to back-to-back victories over Verona and Kairat Almaty, but the coach remains far from satisfied.
The Romanian tactician is determined to rid his team of what he considers the “old bad habits” that have haunted them for multiple seasons.
Indeed, superficiality, late-game lapses and dropped points against weaker sides, as per FCInterNews.
Last season, Inter dropped 13 points against teams outside European qualification, often surrendering leads in the closing stages.
The report recalls matches such as the 2-2 with Genoa, the 1-1 with relegated Monza, and the infamous 2-2 draw with Parma, then coached by Chivu himself.

Now, Chivu’s mission is to prevent those same issues from resurfacing.
The defeats to Juventus and Napoli also exposed another lingering flaw: struggles in direct clashes with top rivals.
The report also highlights a worrying pattern of late goals conceded, echoing the collapse that cost the Nerazzurri last year’s title.
Of the 35 goals conceded in Serie A in 2024-25, 12 arrived in the final 15 minutes.
For Chivu, these statistics underline the importance of mentality.
The coach wants his Inter to become a side that finishes games with the same sharpness and hunger it starts them.
