Milan stalwart Christian Pulisic returned to the scoresheet with a match-opener in a hard-earned 2-0 victory at Serie A minnows Venezia. In doing so, the USMNT forward set a new career high in goals during a single league season.

Pulisic enjoyed a remarkable first season at Milan, collecting 15 goals and 11 assists across 50 competitive matches. His transition from the Premier League to Serie A went smoothly. Indeed, he quickly established himself as a standout performer at Stadio San Siro.

Though the 2024/25 campaign is not over yet, Pulisic has already eclipsed last season’s tally. He has already netted his 16th goal of the season, marking the highest single-season scoring tally of his club career. Unlike Rafael Leao, he has been the embodiment of consistency.

He’s the club’s joint-best goalscorer in Serie A this year with ten goals. However, he also boasts eight assists, which sets him apart from Milan star midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. Though Pulisic has yet to score in the Coppa Italia, he could change that in the grand final against Bologna.

Pulisic’s talismanic exploits also helped Milan win one domestic silverware this season. He scored in both Supercoppa Italiana outings in Saudi Arabia as Sergio Conceicao’s side beat Juventus and Inter en route to the podium.

At 26, Pulisic is at his peak powers. His contract at the San Siro runs out in 2027, and it’s only natural to expect Milan to offer him fresh terms soon. Meanwhile, several foreign clubs have placed a watchful eye on the United States captain.
