OPPOSING MANAGER: REHANNE SKINNER

Skinner was appointed West Ham’s first-ever female manager of their professional era in the summer of 2023 – arriving with a sparkling CV and well over a decade of coaching experience to her name.

After helping establish Leicester’s senior women’s team in 2004 before taking over as manager in 2006, she was then Arsenal’s assistant manager between 2010 and 2013 where the Gunners lifted two WSL titles.

During that time, she also coached various England youth levels while working in the United States to coach aspiring young players seeking college scholarships.

Following a spell as Wales women’s U19s head coach and senior Wales assistant, took charge of England women’s U19s, leading them to the 2019 UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship finals, before moving up to be appointed England women’s U23s head coach in 2019.

In September 2020, she became a part England women’s coaching team before Skinner’s appointment as Spurs’ head coach where she established their top-flight status before a fifth-place WSL finish in 2021/22.

During her time at West Ham since the summer of 2023, she has led them to safety in 2023/24 before a ninth-place finish last season.

ONES TO WATCH

West Ham have endured a difficult start to the current campaign and enter the fixture at the Joie Stadium in search of their first points in the WSL in 2025/26.

However, they have enjoyed two wins in the Subway Women’s League Cup this term with a 5-1 triumph over Charlton and 2-1 success against Brighton.

Shekiera Martinez scored in each of those victories and is certainly one to watch in the Hammers’ attack on Saturday.

The attacking midfielder was also recently included in Germany’s squad during October’s international break.

PREVIOUS MEETING

City last faced West Ham in March 2025 with the teams playing out a 1-1 draw in the capital.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw had given us the lead on 80 minutes before Manuela Pavi equalised in second-half stoppage time as the spoils were shared.

LAST TIME OUT

Jeglertz’s team secured a penalties win over Newcastle in the Subway League Cup following a 3-3 draw in normal time.

Lois Joel had given the Magpies the lead in the 11th minute, but goals from Laura Coombs, Yui Hasegawa and Gracie Prior flipped the match on its head and gave us a commanding lead.

That advantage, though, was cancelled out by strikes from Freya Gregory and Shania Hayles before we collected an extra point after a 7-6 shootout victory.
