Claudio Ranieri’s first day back at Trigoria saw the veteran technician meet the team at his disposal for the remainder of the season.
Ranieri officially begun his third adventure at Roma earlier today, introducing his technical staff composed of his trusted assistant Benetti, his collaborator Spalla and the athletic trainers Spignoli and Catalano.
The coach held a meeting with the team, during which he met up with some of his former players from 2019, such as Lorenzo Pellegrini, Bryan Cristante and El Shaarawy.
Ranieri sent a clear message: no excuses, maximum unity and above all a strong sense of identity.
The Testaccino coach underlined, in particular to the new arrivals, the importance of the Giallorossi shirt and the urgency of regaining the affection of a tired fa base, which has always fought for the team.
After the meeting, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport, the team trained for the first time under the guidance of the coach, who will have to prepare for matches against some very tough opponents, including Napoli, Tottenham and Atalanta.
Ranieri, alongside sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, carefully observed the training, making his determined gaze and the experience accumulated over the years felt.
After his experience on the Giallorossi bench, the coach will also take on a role as a direct consultant for the Friedkin family, with the task of suggesting market operations, working methods and coordination with the youth sector, but also reporting the situation that is felt inside and outside Trigoria.
Although the contract has not been disclosed in detail, it is said to be a one-year agreement with an option for two seasons, with the possibility of involvement in the management of Everton, given Ranieri’s knowledge of English football.
