Roma head coach Claudio Ranieri attended the pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s rematch with Como.
The Italian manager spoke to reporters today to discuss the team’s preparations for the return leg against Cesc Fabregas’ side.
“Dovbyk is recovering, he should be available from tomorrow,” announced Ranieri.
“We are all always under examination, not him but in football it is always like this for everyone.”
“The new coach? I can advise but then it will be the ownership that chooses who will lead Roma.”
“The owners trusts me and I will tell present them with a list of candidates with their strengths and weaknesses, then they will ask me for further clarifications. I will bring valid names to lead Roma starting next season.”
“Fabregas? I don’t know if he would be ready for Roma right now, but I know he will be a top coach in 3 or 4 years. Como is the Parma of the 90s. Facing Como now is like going to the dentist without anesthesia.”
“Hummels? I don’t ask Hummels much about the future, I tell him that he is a point of reference for young players, but the choice for the future is up to him alone. We must respect his decision, whatever that may be.”
“I’m getting to know Gourna-Douath better, the team is working perfectly so far and I’m waiting for him to fit in well with the gears. He needs to get more in tune with the lads in order to start in consecutive games.”
“De Rossi? He is a great coach, he has to follow his path. Then he will return to Roma stronger than when he was here.”
