The Manchester United winger has patiently waited all summer for the Blues to get serious, and with the final week of the window now upon us, it seems like things are getting into gear.

Fabrizio Romano’s latest Youtube video had some interesting stories about the winger and his future:

“It’s important to say guys, the feeling in the last 24-48 hours is on Alejandro Garnacho clearly going to Chelsea. Garnacho’s camp are very optimistic about turning down all other approaches,” Romano said.

“I’m told also a Saudi club called again in recent days to ask about the situation – [they asked] ‘why Garnacho is still not going to Chelsea? Can we enter the deal?’ The answer was ‘thanks, but it’s not about the money’”

As the insider has maintained right from the start, Garnacho is determined to join us.

You can see Romano speaking in the clip embedded here:

Chelsea fans unconvinced by Garnacho deal – so far

There are still a lot of mixed feelings around Garnacho it seems. Nobody is really convinced by him as a player, and the desperation with which Manchester United are trying to get rid of him hardly inspires confidence.

Chelsea fans are probably also looking at their attacking options and thinking “we’ve got enough” – but that will feel very different in a week’s time if Nicolas Jackson, Tyrique George and Christopher Nkunku have gone.

We would all rather see George given a chance to play more than Garnacho signed, frankly. But the endless demand for PSR churn makes that seem less likely now. The Athletic report on multiple teams both in the UK and abroad watching George.
