Liverpool could lose another club legend. Mo Salah is definitely leaving - more could follow.
Mo Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season - that’s been confirmed this week. The Reds are letting him leave for nothing, calling an early end on his contract which was set to run until 2027.
But that might not be the end of it. We’re still waiting to learn what might happen with Andy Robertson, too, whose deal expires this summer. Ibrahima Konate is another who may depart once his contract is up in June.
And that’s not it. Tuttosport reports that Juventus remain somewhat confident of signing Alisson Becker in the summer.
Liverpool triggered an extra year on his deal that extended it to 2027 and did that recently. However, Juve appear to believe that this was simply a matter of getting money for the Brazilian when he leaves.
The fact they have Luciano Spalletti as coach is thought to be a real draw for Alisson, who played under him at AS Roma prior to joining Liverpool. That, coupled with Giorgio Mamardashvili stepping into the first-choice role next season, is thought to be driving a transfer.
Though, we’re not certain on this one. Is Mamardashvili ready to be no.1? Are Liverpool actually willing to sacrifice Alisson in order to make that happen? We’re not so sure.
What’s clear is that the contract extension option isn’t enough to put Juventus off. They’re still going to try and grab the goalkeeper, potentially bringing his time at Liverpool to an end along with Salah.
As of 26 March 2026, Alisson Becker is sidelined after sustaining an injury during the Champions League win over Galatasaray. He missed the Brighton defeat and has withdrawn from the Brazil squad. His availability for April's matches against Manchester City and PSG remains uncertain, as he is expected to miss the entire international break.
Contract and Future
Liverpool recently activated a one-year extension, tying Alisson to the club until June 2027. While this protects his transfer value, rumours suggest he could still depart this summer, with Juventus and Inter Milan showing significant interest.
Goalkeeping Depth
Giorgi Mamardashvili has assumed starting duties but has struggled for consistency, conceding 18 goals in 13 appearances. This has sparked internal discussions about the club's long-term goalkeeping strategy should Alisson's fitness issues persist.
