One club have now placed a £70m valuation on the head of one of their players who Chelsea are reportedly trying to sign this transfer window.
The Blues have been pretty quiet really, but some things started popping off yesterday in what was the busiest day of transfer news for The Blues so far. We are expecting some outgoings to happen at Chelsea this month, but we aren’t expecting their to be much in the way of in-comings.
However, there is one position that the club are now looking to sign in this window – they want to bring in a new centre back to bolster their options at the back in light of injuries to players such as Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, although there has been some debate as to how long Fofana will actually be out for.
Chelsea do need a new defender though, and it was Marc Guehi making the new yesterday, with Chelsea looking to potentially bring him back to the club during this month whilst the window is still open.
Guehi could partner up with Levi Colwill once again
The Daily Mirror are reporting this afternoon that Crystal Palace will rebuff Chelsea’s offer to re-sign centre-back Marc Guehi with the south London club’s £70m valuation of the England international much higher than what his former side are currently willing to pay.
I cannot see for one minute that Chelsea would even entertain a price that high for Guehi, who actually doesn’t even have that long left remaining on his contract at Palace. I think for a deal to be done here then Palace will need to be a bit more realistic, if they are even open to selling their club captain, which of course they may not be.
