Borussia Dortmund are hoping to exploit and make Chelsea get nervous about Carney Chukwuemeka according to reports.

Chukwuemeka spent the second half of last season on loan with Dortmund, and has made it clear he’d like to return to the club.

Chelsea would prefer a permanent sale, and it has been reported the Blues have dropped their asking price to €25m.

Dortmund don’t want permanent deal for Chukwuemeka

Chukwuemeka is one of a number of players Chelsea are looking to move on before the window closes, and they shouldn’t have a problem doing that.

The 21-year-old joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in a deal worth £20m in 2022, but injuries have plagued his time at Stamford Bridge, and he’s made just 32 appearances for the Blues.

Chukwuemeka has attracted interest from RB Leipzig, but he’s made it clear he wants to make a return to Dortmund.

Dortmund boss Kovac has spoken of how he’s a fan of Chukwuemeka, and the reported lower asking price should make a deal easier to do.

However, it’s been reported by Bundesliga expert Christian Falk via X account Transferzone00 that Dortmund are hoping to exploit Chelsea and make them nervous about a deal for Chukwuemeka.

Falk adds Chelsea want to sell for €25m, but would take €20m as a minimum, but Dortmund want to pay less and with a loan deal with a buy option.

Chukwuemeka scored one goal in 17 appearances for Dortmund last season, and will be hoping to better that if he completes a move to the club.

Chelsea closing in on Xavi Simons deal

With Chukwuemeka looking to move to the Bundesliga, the Blues are looking to bring one of the league’s brightest talents to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are locked in negotiations with RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons, with the 22-year-old said to want to join the club.
