AC Milan intend to sell at least a couple of their big names without Champions League football next season, a report claims.
Calciomercato.com write that after such a disastrous season – to borrow the assessment used by Giorgio Furlani immediately after the final defeat against Bologna – it is reasonable to expect a revolution, but one that will have more economic constraints than in the recent past.
Without participating in the next Champions League, the Rossoneri – when adding together UEFA bonuses, market pool and clauses relating to sponsors that will not be activated – will get approximately €100m less in revenue.
It is a disastrous result that has created great embarrassment in the London headquarters where the plans for the season were different, and the investment in the winter transfer window has led to nothing. To recover these lost revenues, it will be necessary to work differently this summer.
The No.1 suspect to leave Milan seems to be Tijjani Reijnders, the object of strong interest from Manchester City. While waiting to understand what the position of the Dutchman will be, the Rossoneri want more than €70m for his sale, after he recently renewed his contract until 2030.

Milan would prefer to sacrifice Theo Hernandez but the French full-back has given clear signals of wanting to renew and stay with the Rossoneri. He would change his mind only for a few clubs in the world, including Real Madrid.
Another suspect seems to be Mike Maignan. Negotiations for the renewal are on hold and faced with an offer of €25-30m Milan would not say no. Rafael Leao has confirmed his desire not to leave but everything will depend on the size of the offers that arrive from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia.
