Rafael Leao is one of the most frustrating yet brilliant cases at AC Milan. An enigma on the pitch, but a question off it, and in recent times, both have been fading into another.

We are in a situation where Leao’s exit is a plausible reality, and it could be the furthest thing from the truth – we have no idea in that regard. At the end of 2024, there were suggestions that he wanted to leave with his agent putting in transfer queries to potentially interested parties.

However, since then, he has reaffirmed his love for the club. Unfortunately, it is not done there.

With his performances being inconsistent still, there is the question of value, and the €150 million release clause will be laughed at by interested parties in the summer – leaving the Rossoneri in a difficult place.

As Calciomercato.com write, the player represents a ‘technical and economical asset’ to the club, which makes him the highest paid player. However, that player has been a distant memory regularly this season.

Since his arrival, it has ‘always’ been Leao, when regarding big news or issues. Once again, this is the case.

In the dressing room, he clearly holds weight, almost single-handedly inspiring a comeback yesterday, however, there is still a desire for more from him.

With the summer arriving, ‘clarity is needed’ as the ‘paradox’ continues to swarm. After all, it is in everyone’s best interest to do so.
