Ghana handed major boost for final World Cup round of 32 fixture
Ghana will have Antoine Semenyo available for their World Cup round of 32 clash against Colombia today.
Concerns over the Manchester City winger emerged after he was seen limping late on during the 2-1 defeat by Croatia last weekend, a result that saw Ghana progress as one of the best third-placed teams.
Semenyo went down in the Croatia box towards the end of the game and while he left the pitch after receiving treatment, he was able to finish the game.
Speaking at full-time though, Ghana boss Carlos Queiroz delivered a positive update, saying: “No, its just a knock, he will be alright."
A boost for the Black Stars certainly as Queiroz can name an unchanged attacking quartet of Semenyo, Elisha Owusu, Kwasi Sibo and Kamaldeen Sulemana in support of captain Jordan Ayew, still awaiting his first goal of the tournament.
Thomas Partey is expected to start in defensive midfield but there is a decision to be made over Jerome Opoku after he sat out the final group match against Croatia as a precautionary measure due to a groin issue.
The central defender has since returned to training and is in line for an immediate recall having been one of Ghana’s most impressive performers against Panama and England in the group phase.
Doubtful: Jerome Opoku

Colombia, meanwhile, have no injury concerns heading into this fixture, but changes are expected.
Nestor Lorenzo opted to rest Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz, Johan Mojica and Sporting CP striker Luis Suarez for the goalless draw with Portugal last weekend, but all three are likely to start.
Predicted Colombia XI: Vargas; Munoz, Sanchez, Lucumi, Mojica; Puerta, Lerma, Arias; J Rodriguez, Suarez, Diaz.
Doubts: Opoku
