Colón speed up squad clear-out to cut December costs

The management of Colón is speeding up the release of players to lighten the squad and, above all, reduce December expenses (including bonuses), amid the electoral process. After a disappointing season, the club is resuming negotiations to terminate contracts, a process that had stalled due to salary delays.

The departures of Joel Soñora, José Barreto, and Cristian García have already been finalized. Now, efforts are focused on defenders Brian Negro and Gonzalo Bettini, who also have a high chance of leaving the “Sabalero.” The objective is clear: to quickly streamline the squad in order to stabilize the finances and make management easier for the new board taking over in December.
