Como open talks for Flamengo defender Da Mata after Champions League qualification

Como are negotiating to sign Flamengo centre-back Da Mata after sealing Champions League qualification last season.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the Italian club have approached the 20-year-old’s representatives for details on fees, contractual terms and the scope for a deal, but have not yet submitted a formal offer to Flamengo.

The interest is described as concrete behind the scenes. Da Mata is under contract until December 2027 and remains part of Flamengo’s development plan.

With no openings in the first team, the defender continues to feature in the club’s youth sides. Clubs in Germany, Spain, France and Portugal are also monitoring his situation.

Flamengo do not intend to ease any potential negotiation, as his release clause is set at 50 million euros, equivalent to R$ 291.4 million at current rates.
