MIAMI – Two Concacaf nations will vie to become world champions when the FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup Philippines 2025 kicks off on November 21 in the tournament’s inaugural editions.

Canada and Panama earned their place in the upcoming FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup by reaching the final of the inaugural 2025 Concacaf W Futsal Championship earlier this year.

As the start of the tournament nears, we take a look at the Road to the Futsal Women's World Cup for the two Concacaf participants.

Canada

Canada earned a 2-0-1 record to finish second in Group B in the 2025 Concacaf W Futsal Championship. The Reds came back from an 3-2 defeat to Costa Rica to win 6-nil against Honduras and 3-1 against the USA. As a top two team, Canada advanced to the Knockout Round of the tournament.

Canada became the second Concacaf W Futsal Championship finalist after a hard-fought game against Mexico, drawing 4-4 in regulation and winning 4-3 in the penalty shootout. Cynthia Gaspar-Freire wrote her name in the history books as she netted the goal that would complete Canada’s comeback and qualification.

An 8-2 Canadian victory in the Final crowned the North Americans as the first ever Concacaf W Futsal Championship winners. Esther Brossard took the spotlight after scoring a hat-trick and finishing the competition with eight goals and the Top Scorer Award, presented by Aramco.

Panama

Panama earned a 2-0-1 record to finish second in Group A in the 2025 Concacaf W Futsal Championship. The Panamanians began the tournament with a 6-2 win over Cuba and a 4-3 win against Guatemala, before closing the Group Stage with a 2-1 loss to Mexico.

In the Semifinals, Panama took a 3-1 win against Costa Rica to secure its spot in the W Futsal World Cup, becoming the first Concacaf team to accomplish the feat, thanks to the goals from Kenia Rangel, Laurie Bautista and Nadia Ducreux.

Panama concluded the Concacaf W Futsal Championship as runners-up.
