Confirmed: Real Madrid to face Fiorentina in pre-season friendly on August 1 | OneFootball

Real Madrid have officially annonced that they will play a pre-season friendly against Fiorentina on Saturday, August 1, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. local time.

The match will take place at the Worthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, Austria, a venue with a capacity of 30,000 spectators and the home stadium of SK Austria Klagenfurt.

This will not be Real Madrid’s first visit to the Austrian city, located in the south of the country near the Slovenian border.

The club previously traveled to Klagenfurt during the 2021 pre-season, when they faced AC Milan in another summer friendly.

Real Madrid also played in Austria last summer, defeating WSG Tirol in Innsbruck as part of their preseason preparations.

Second friendly confirmed

This becomes the second pre-season friendly to be confirmed by Real Madrid as they get started with their preparations for the new campaign under Jose Mourinho.

Along with the clash against Fiorentina, Los Blancos will also take on newly-promoted La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna in the Teresa Herrera Trophy on August 12.

Reports suggest that the club has arranged four friendlies in total, split between Spain and other European countries, with two of them being confirmed now.

The club officials are also considering one additional behind-closed-doors match if Mourinho believes the squad requires more minutes before the league campaign gets underway.
