Conmebol has confirmed the Libertadores last-16 schedule for Corinthians against Argentina’s Rosario Central, with the ties set for Thursday 13 and Thursday 20 August.
The first leg will be played at Estádio Gigante de Arroyito at 21:30. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN and Disney+.
The return is a week later at 21:30 at Neo Química Arena, with Corinthians hosting after topping Group E with 11 points. Rosario Central finished second in Group H on 13 points. The tie was set in a draw held on the 29th.
If they advance, Corinthians will meet the winners of Estudiantes against Universidad Católica in the quarter-finals. A potential semi-final could bring Flamengo, Cruzeiro, Independiente del Valle or Tolima. The final could pitch them against Mirassol, Fluminense or Palmeiras, or even a rematch with Platense from the group stage.
This is Corinthians’ 14th appearance in the last 16, the stage where they have exited most often, with eight eliminations. They last reached this round in 2022, progressing at La Bombonera after beating Boca Juniors on penalties. They were then knocked out by Flamengo, who went on to lift the trophy.
Fernando Diniz’s squad are on holiday during the World Cup pause. They resume on 12 July in a friendly against Cascavel in Paraná, then return to competitive action against Remo, with 22 July given as the base date.
