Roma has nine days to determine whether it will be released from its settlement agreement with UEFA.

The June 30th deadline is now just around the corner, and the pressure is mounting.

The Giallorossi are seeking to sell some players, generating capital gains, without lowering the team’s technical level and respecting their private agreement with European football’s governing body.

The most significant development is another.

As Corriere dello Sport reports, Dan Friedkin is leading the negotiations with UEFA: a dialogue with Ceferin that could influence the club’s strategies.

Roma’s owner is seeking solutions that will allow him to comply with European parameters without compromising Gasperini’s technical project. The Grugliasco-born coach has been clear: the best players aren’t sold. This assumption is guiding the Giallorossi’s moves.

There are two options in the coming weeks.

The first: generate capital gains with some players, including Soulé, get closer to UEFA’s parameters, and agree to a fine by closing the settlement agreement.

The second: obtain a one-year extension of the agreement with European football’s governing body, which would examine the accounts for the three-year period from 2025 to 2027, excluding 2024. Dan is evaluating every scenario. The next few hours will clarify the path Roma will take.
