Coppa Italia: Boulaye Dia ends six-month goal drought
Boulaye Dia has finally found the back of the net for Lazio after a six-month drought. His goal helped secure a 2-2 draw in a thrilling Coppa Italia clash against Atalanta.
Boulaye Dia is back among the scorers. Coming off the bench in the 76th minute, the Senegal international needed just eleven minutes to make his mark. In the 87th minute, he popped up to give his side the lead in a nail-biting finale.
It was a crucial, symbolic goal that brought an end to a long barren spell. His previous goal dated back to August 31, 2026, against Verona. While the goal was a personal relief, the outcome of the match left a bitter taste. Pegged back late on, Lazio had to settle for a 2-2 draw.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset, Boulaye Dia didn’t hide his emotions, but also showed his frustration. “The goal is very important for me because I hadn’t scored in a long time. But we lost the victory and that hurts even more. We played a great match, scored twice, but conceded the equalizer.”
