Cori declined to consider a new reform of Corinthians’ Statute at Monday’s meeting in Parque São Jorge, meaning year-end elections will proceed under current rules.

According to Meu Timao, the proposal, drafted by a commission and sent by Deliberative Council president Romeu Tuma Júnior on 17 July after talks with Cori chief Miguel Marques, bundled 10 CD-approved amendments and updates linked to the 2023 Lei Geral do Esporte.

Cori had initially been set to address an earlier letter from Tuma seeking a meeting on the subject, but that became moot after the later submission. The new project was not debated, with members pointing to the sole paragraph of article 81 of the Statute, which bars the CD from revisiting resolved matters for one year.

The interpretation, raised by councillor Alexandre Husni and backed by Guilherme Strenger, Felipe Ezabella and Ademir Benedito, would push any fresh discussion to 18 May 2027, as the last CD vote was on 18 May. Tuma argued that a court suspension of the last AG in April froze the process and permitted a new debate from scratch, but the case did not advance.

Tuma confirmed his attendance and said he had sought a brief, consensual discussion to ease three years of back and forth that he believes have caused institutional strain. He will await a final ruling on the injunction and, if the process is deemed legal, says the club could resume from June. For now, he does not plan further moves.

The agenda also approved the removal of former president Roberto de Andrade from Cori until the end of the current three-year term, due to unjustified absences. Late in the meeting, president Osmar Stabile joined, having signalled interest in seeking Cori’s approval to sign the non-binding SAFiel memorandum, updated in May, but it was not discussed because it could not be handled under the “Various” item.
