Corinthians academy graduate Janderson fires Vila Nova top of Série B | OneFootball

Janderson, 27, struck in stoppage time to seal Vila Nova's 2-1 win over São Bernardo at Onésio Brasileiro Alvarenga in Goiânia, sending the club back to the top of Série B.

Marquinhos Gabriel opened the scoring for Vila Nova, a former Corinthians player. As reported by Meu Timao, Janderson is a Corinthians academy graduate.

The result moved the Goiás club to 31 points, reclaiming first place after Novorizontino and Criciúma had briefly gone above them earlier in the round.

Vila Nova visit Juventude on Friday at 19:00, at Alfredo Jaconi.

For Vila Nova this season, Janderson has six goals and four assists in 23 appearances. Five of those goals and all the assists have come in the Série B campaign.

He joined Corinthians' youth set-up in 2018 and scored eight in 47 games for the under-20s. Promoted by Fábio Carille in 2019, he made 38 senior appearances across 2019 and 2020, scoring three with three assists.

He spent two seasons on loan at Atlético Goianiense, then joined Grêmio on loan in 2022 and helped secure promotion to Série A. In 2023 he signed for Ceará on a permanent deal, later also featuring for Atlético Goianiense and Remo before arriving at Vila Nova at the start of this season.
