Corinthians have accepted São Paulo’s terms and have moved towards signing Alisson on loan until the end of the year, covering the 32-year-old’s wages. According to Globo.com, the deal requires an upfront payment of R$ one million.

São Paulo will receive a further R$ 500,000 in the second half of the year. The agreement also includes R$ one and a half million if Alisson reaches a confidential appearance threshold.

Aware talks are advanced, head coach Dorival Júnior praised Alisson after the 1-1 draw with Santos on Thursday. He noted the player has not been used recently, recalled working well with him, first meeting him at Vasco da Gama when the Cruzeiro academy product was on loan, and adjusting his role to suit his attributes.

He added that if Alisson can rediscover his best level he would be important in a position the squad need to fill. Dorival highlighted the need for midfield rotation over a long season and said reduced numbers limit options.

A player swap was floated initially, but the options did not convince São Paulo. Talks then shifted to a loan, with Corinthians seeking a no-cost deal amid severe financial strain, while São Paulo insisted on compensation.

Corinthians have already announced Gabriel Paulista, Matheus Pereira and right-back Pedro Milans. Forward Kaio César is due to arrive on Monday for medicals and to sign, and goalkeeper João Ricardo of Fortaleza is expected in about a month after shoulder surgery recovery.
