Breno Bidon reflected on Corinthians’ hectic schedule and the build-up to Thursday’s derby with Santos after rescuing a 1-1 draw in the Majestoso on Sunday.

The midfielder struck at 44 minutes of the second half from a Pedro Raul pass, finding the corner. According to Meu Timao, he spoke in the mixed zone about limited recovery time and the need for strong daily work, adding he is certain Thursday will be a great game.

Bidon has featured in all three of Corinthians’ matches in 2026. He started in the Majestoso and in the opening win over Ponte Preta, 3-0. He came on against Red Bull Bragantino in Bragança Paulista, where Corinthians lost 3-0.

The congested Paulista programme coincides with the early Brasileirão rounds. Despite being the home side, Corinthians will open against Bahia at Vila Belmiro on 28 January, a switch made due to the Supercopa Rei, formerly Supercopa do Brasil, against Flamengo in Brasília on one February.

Originally, Corinthians were set to debut on 29 January, which would have left them a day down on rest, with Flamengo starting on 28 January. As part of the agreement, Santos will play Bragantino at Neo Química Arena on 25 January.

Bidon said the scheduling decision rests with the board and the squad will follow it. The next outing is the derby at Vila Belmiro on Thursday at 19:30, and he is expected to start.
