Corinthians said left-back Hugo Farias sustained a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee during the 3-0 win over Capivariano and will have surgery in the coming days, while forward Kaio César has a right hamstring injury and has begun treatment.

Both were withdrawn in the first half at Neo Química Arena on Thursday.

Kaio felt pain in the back of his right thigh after a challenge on 15 minutes and made way for Dieguinho.

Before the interval, Hugo collided with Mike on the left flank and his leg caught in the turf. He left with pain in his right knee and was replaced by Matheus Bidu on 40 minutes.

Dorival Júnior rotated his squad with Sunday's derby in mind. Hugo was the only back-up left-back, so his injury leaves Matheus Bidu as the sole specialist, with the club negotiating the return of Fabrizio Angileri.

They are the team's first medical absences for the derby with Palmeiras. José Martínez is also out, not yet registered in the Paulistão due to passport reissue delays in Venezuela.

Transfer activity is also affecting availability. Matheus Donelli is set to join Shabab Al Ahli on loan until mid 2026, while centre-back Cacá, in talks with Athletico-PR, did not face Capivariano.

Corinthians host Palmeiras on Sunday, 8 February at 20:30 at Neo Química Arena in round seven of the Campeonato Paulista, a direct meeting for top spot.
