Corinthians draw Palmeiras in Paulista Women's U20 quarter-finals first leg

Corinthians hosted Palmeiras on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 8, at the Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha, for the first match of the quarter-finals of the Women's U-20 Paulista Championship and (result). With the result, the Brabinhas need a win by any score in the return match to continue in the tournament.

The first half was intense and full of emotions. Although Palmeiras started better, Corinthians opened the scoring with a beautiful goal from Raíssa. Close to the end of the half, however, Ana Júlia scored for the rival after a mistake by the Brabinhas' defense, leaving the game tied.

In the second half, the pace dropped and the teams barely threatened the opponent's goal, despite Corinthians' dominance. Goalkeeper Bruna Hirata shone for Palmeiras, making important saves and preventing her team's defeat in the face of the Brabinhas' attacks.

To start the match, coach Bia Vaz lined up the following team: Sophia Trindade; Rafa Rocha, Brunna, Dany Pereira and Manu Olivan; Helô Camargo, Gaby Tomé and Gabi Pires; Raíssa, Ester and Rayane.

The substitutes bench had the following options: Rillary, Rafa Rodrigues, Lara Mel, Emelym, Dafhiny, Gabi Jordi, Mel, Manu Teixeira and Júlia Romero. Now, the Parque São Jorge club will return to the pitch next Wednesday, 15, at 3pm (Brasília time), to meet Palmeiras again, in the return match of the quarter-finals.
